My icon does not display in the browser search results. WordPress

For the past two weeks, I've been having an issue where my icon doesn't show up in the search results of browsers, particularly on Google. The image responsible for this icon is 48px x 48px and is in PNG format. I'm using a child theme of Ocean-WP and added the icon through the theme editor in the 'Customize' section under 'Site Identity'. The icon appears correctly in the bookmark tab. Every time in the Google Search Console, I request re-indexing, so I don't know if it's a matter of time, since I can see when the site was indexed on GSC, unless the icon is independent of that. I should also add that I use the Yoast SEO plugin, where I also set the image. The Code in head of my website looks like that: <link rel="icon" href="" sizes="32x32"> <link rel="icon" href="" sizes="192x192"> <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href=""> <meta name="msapplication-TileImage" content=""> I have already tried using the SVG format and various dimensions of PNG, which were multiples of 48px. Additionally, I have primarily adhered to Google's guidelines in these attempts. text
If the icon (favicon) for your WordPress website is not displaying in the browser search results, it may be due to caching issues or incorrect configuration. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem: Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, the browser cache can prevent the updated favicon from displaying. Clear your browser cache and refresh the search results page to see if the favicon appears. Verify Favicon Path: Ensure that the favicon file is correctly specified in the HTML code of your WordPress website. The favicon file should be named "favicon.ico" and placed in the root directory of your WordPress installation. The HTML code for the favicon should be added within the <head> section of your theme's header.php file or via the WordPress Customizer. <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="favicon.ico"> Check File Permissions: Make sure that the favicon.ico file has the appropriate file permissions set, allowing it to be accessed by the web server. The file should have read permissions for the web server user. Favicon Size and Format: Ensure that the favicon.ico file is in the correct size and format. The favicon should typically be a 16x16 pixel or 32x32 pixel .ico file format. You can use an image editing tool to create or convert the image to the appropriate format. Verify Favicon Path in WordPress Settings: In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to "Settings" -> "General." Ensure that the "Site Icon" field is correctly set to the URL of your favicon.ico file. Check for Caching Plugin or CDN: If you are using a caching plugin or a Content Delivery Network (CDN), it may be caching the previous version of the favicon. Clear the cache in your caching plugin or CDN settings and verify if the favicon appears correctly. Test on Different Browsers: Check if the issue is specific to a particular browser. Test your website in different browsers to see if the favicon displays correctly. Wait for Propagation: It may take some time for the updated favicon to propagate across different servers and be visible universally. Wait for a while and recheck the search results. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of the favicon not displaying in the browser search results on your WordPress website.
