The site was hacked in the past, but the consequences of the hack were fixed: Malicious scripts were removed Indexing in Google was restored Rechecked by Wordpress malware scaners All themes and plugins was updated The number of links has significantly decreased, but they still continue to appear as 404 errors. At the moment: All malware scanners on WordPress show that the site is clean Google Search Console checks also indicate that the page is safe How can this situation be fixed to prevent new 404 links from appearing?

make sure that you block the links from robot.txt so that google will not index those page that keep up on appearing on google search console . additionally Random post generation exists in wordpress for blogs as widgets you can look into that and turn off random post appearance from customization or functions.php

You’ll be in good company
